Stuart Davis Redux

Still waking up screaming after a few weeks on the Rhizome chat boards defending my work (and work I like) from this crap.

One of the topics of the panel* was political art, or its possible absence from Net Art 2.0 (art on blogs and social networking sites).

I gave my two cents on it, an abbreviated version of this post from last year.

No one else spoke up, and in the chat boards a particularly smug commenter said artists were "insulted" by what I said.

Evidently because I was the only one addressing the topic I was supposed to give both sides or something.

Update, 2011:
The Rhizome link has been changed to http://rhizome.org/editorial/2008/jun/2/net-aesthetics-20/
